RN Travel Companion

We are seeking Registered Nurses to join our GOMO Travel Team!  As a GOMO Travel Companion, you will accompany individuals during their travels to help make their journey comfortable, enjoyable and stress-free.  GOMO travelers include the elderly, unaccompanied children, persons with travel anxiety and travelers seeking to travel with a trusted companion.  GOMO Travel Companions that are RNs are not required to perform typical nursing duties because the travelers are not their patients.  GOMO Travel Companions simply deliver the peace of mind, confidence, and assurance to GOMO travelers that naturally comes from a registered nurse.

GOMO Companion Responsibilities

• Assist travelers with their pre-arranged travel needs
• Pick up/drop off travelers from home or final destinations
• Carry travelers’ luggage and help stow carry-on bags
• Assist traveler through security, departure gate and boarding
• Handle interruptions and delays in travel itineraries and assist with alternate arrangements
• Deal with transportation representatives on travelers’ behalf (including airline agents, cab drivers, cruise agents, etc.)
• Communicate updates throughout the trip to the traveler’s family members and other relevant parties
• Assist travelers through customs and baggage claim
• Make the traveler’s trip as pleasant and stress-free as possible
• Maintain a safe and comfortable travel experience for the traveler

GOMO Companion Qualifications

• Friendly, thoughtful, caring and compassionate people skills
• Exemplary interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to demonstrate responsiveness, sound judgment and awareness
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build rapport with travelers
• Ability to project trustworthiness, sense of security and confidence in dealings with travelers and their family members
• At least 21 years of age
• Comfortable assisting the elderly or juveniles with travel anxiety
• Valid drivers’ license with clean driving record
• Successful background and screening checks
• Primary language is English but the ability to speak Spanish or another foreign language is a plus
• Travel experience required
• Must be willing to apply to Homeland Security Trusted Traveler Program
• Previous experience as a travel agent, airline professional or healthcare provider is a plus
